Why is it called an Alternative Treatment?

It is deemed an alternative therapy because although such therapies have been practiced for thousand of years and have millions of dedicated followers, holistic healing fails to meet the basic testable criteria laid down by scientists of our day.

For Holistic spiritual healing to become recognized and practiced as a main stream medical practice, there needs to be a scientific understanding of how it works, how a practitioner practices and unequivocal statistical evidence of success.

  • In the case of a new drug, such as antibiotics this can be tested on over one thousand patients and its success measured against placebos, so providing detailed statistical evidence.
  • In comparison each holistic treatment is unique, based off unidentifiable universal energy, conducted in an unidentified manner by experienced capable practitioners, where the practitioner has gained those skills in an unidentifiable manner, and where no one has established scientifically how such energy moves and works in the human body.

The key thing about Holistic healing and comparable practices such as acupuncture is that it has been practiced for thousand of years and although people are unsure how it works it is sufficient for them to know that it does.
