What is an "Emotional Related" Illness?

Emotions are increasingly being recognized as playing a significant role in the frequency and severity of a range of illnesses. It is estimated that 75% of all illnesses can be attributed in part or entirely due to such emotional stress

The basic traditionalist view held across the old worlds is that many illnesses have their cause in stress, levels of which have never been higher. “Stress” is used as a catch all term and can include anger, rage, fear, resentment, disgust, self worth etc.

Stress is not in itself a bad thing, indeed we need an element of stress in our lives to drive us to get the heart pumping and   adrenaline in to our system (fight or flight) to keep us sharp and vigilant. What is bad is constantly high and destructive levels stress which can cause a wide range of illnesses.

Factors determining stress are so wide ranging but include:

  • Substance abuse, drugs, alcohol, smoking, high fat, high sugar diets etc
  • Our environment: work, home, relationships etc
  • Past traumas: some times these can remain dormant and unaddressed for years and then surface at the most unexpected time or serve as a catalyst aggravating other stress factors.

EQ Bliss treatments target these stresses, realigning energies and trying to get a client into a state of equilibrium... When we are in this ideal state we are better able to respond to events around us and make decisions which are more intuitive rather than reactive and based of past emotional baggage.

Additionally, we are all a product of our upbringing and life’s journey; it is inevitable that along the way we pick up a number of so called emotional scars.  Whilst we tend to learn from our mistakes, these scars can often lay unaddressed and can resurface late in life and cause serious emotional distress.  Examples would include a miscarriage, bereavement, physical assault etc.

With estimates that 75% of all illnesses can be attributed in part or entirely to emotional stress, therefore obviously this is clearly an area that requires particular consideration and attention.
